So I'm thinking the painting is done, even though I'm not so sure about how I feel about how things turned out. I'll explain more below. I have never painted before and my mother-in-law paints all the time so I went ahead and let her go ahead and paint the boys room. She's painted alot in our house already and did OK before so I didn't have a problem with it. Originally the walls were blue and I was thinking of going with a greenish color to match one of the colors in the baby's bedding, but when I got to the store, I decided against the green completely. The salesman told me that the Natura Collection didn't have any specific colors that were only available in that collection. He said that I could get any color in any of the Benjamin Moore paints. He talked me into SHAKER BEIGE. I liked it and felt it would go with just about anything in the room.....Nojo Jungle Tales is the theme. So anyways, we got the paint and primer and my father-in-law came over last Tuesday and put up painters tape. My mother-in-law started on Wednesday morning with the primer and got one coat of paint on by the end of the day. She came back on Thursday and put the 2nd coat of paint on. She left it up to us to take down the painters tape. Here's the problem.....can you leave it on too long? Hubby and I took the tape off last night (Sunday) and had a really hard time. There are lots of spots where the paint came up with the tape and therefore the lines aren't straight. This happened up and down the doors and all along the ceiling and it's pretty noticeable since the ceiling is white and the walls are beige. Just not sure if more time should have been put into the painting process or if we waited too long to take the tape down.
Either way, I LOVE the color. It goes great with the furniture that's in the room now. The smell was virtually odorless and I didn't have to remove my small children (3.5 years old & 12 months old) or my pregnant self during the process! My mother-in-law said the paint went on really, really well. She said it didn't "drip", whatever that means and all she uses is Benjamin Moore paint. She hadn't used the Natura Collection until now though and really liked it!
Our carpets are getting cleaned on June 15th, so we haven't put the crib or bunk beds together and don't plan to until after the carpets are cleaned. I guess we'll have lots to do in between June 15th and June 19th! I am really hoping we can have it done by then!
I'm going to post the before pics again along with the after pics so you can really see the difference! It's amazing how taking pics from different parts of the room makes the paint look such different colors!

HERE YOU CAN REALLY SEE WHERE IT GOT MESSED UP FROM THE TAPE. IT DOESN'T LOOK THIS BAD FROM A DISTANCE.

i love the new color!! painters tape is a pain in the toosh!! you are not alone! try doing a bit of touch up with a small brush
Yeah, you can leave painters tape up too long, and that's what happens when you do. You should take it off when that paint is about half way dry. Do wat everyone else said and use a small brush to touch up the spots that got messed up.
You are suppose to take the painters tape off when the paint is sticky wet. If you allow the paint to dry and THEN take off the painters tape it will peel like that because the paint formed a seal on the tape. Next time take the tape off at an angle when the paint is sticky. I LOVE the new color by the way - it looks a lot better :)

You should have some extra paint left?
You can use a very small brush or even a Qtip to touch-up where you need to. Touch-ups are not unusual when you paint a room.
