*sigh* It only took 16 months, but Connor is officially off the bottle!!  (Yes, he's almost 18 months old now, but I'm a little slow writing this journal).  I've been a bit irritated at myself for not getting him off of them sooner, but the poor little guy has had a lot of changes - the birth of his sister, trips away from home, not to mention his previous hatred of sippy cups and regular milk.  I was amazed because it only took 2 nights.  Connor suddenly started having another episode of seperation anxiety at night, and didn't even care about his cup of milk, so I took advantage of the situation.  If he's ignoring the milk anyway, I figured it would be a good time to just stop giving it to him.  He was really upset the first night, but I put one of his lullaby baby toys back in his crib and it seemed to help.  The second night he was considerably less upset, distracted mostly by the blue puppy lullaby toy.  He pulled the cord to play music again and again until he finally fell asleep.  The third night was beautiful....we sat in the rocking chair with his fuzzy brown blanket to read a story, then I tucked him into bed and tugged his blue puppy for his lullaby.  NO TEARS! He's actually drinking more milk, juice and water during the day than before, so I'm completely thrilled:)

Little Keira's been sleeping through the night for a while now, so I'm just such a happy mommy!  Connor's in bed by 8:30 and Keira at 9:30 and everyone sleeps until 8 am.  I don't even need a nap during the day anymore, so I'm getting a lot more done around the house.  I even have some time for hubby and myself, which makes me even happier!!  I know things are always changing, but for now all is well...

That is so awesome!  =)  I have 15 month old twin girls that do NoT like sippy cups, and are still on the bottle.  I have tried every cup on the market, and am just admitting defeat (for now).

My 4 year olds were SO much easier -- they loved sippy cups, used them from 6 or 7 months, and when they turned one I simply took the bottle away and they didn't even seem to notice!
