Latest on Kassidy *UPDATE in pink*

I know a lot of you have been following Kassidy's journey the last few days and I am so happy I can finally report good news.

I never thought I'd be so excited about Kassidy peeing but it is the highlight of my day! She started urinating more and they are no longer worried about her kidneys at this point. They have absolutely no idea why this has corrected itself or even what caused it...must be the all the prayers!!! Kassidy is still really really tired and is not eating well but that will come with time. We did find out that she has the Anedovirus which is a virus that causes cold like symptoms but from what they said can make kids very miserable. The kidney specialist came up today and wasn't in the room for more than a minute because she isn't worried anymore since Kassidy is urinating again. We should get the final results back from the spinal tap tomorrow but that has been negative so far.

The plan now is to watch her real close to make sure the swelling goes down. They are going to keep an eye on her blood pressure (it was pretty high yesterday and last night) and her urine output. If either of those become a concern, they will do further testing but right now we are taking it day by day.

Words can not express how thankful I am that we have such caring family and friends...we are truly lucky!!!! I am tearing up just thinking about it. I appreciate all the phone calls, messages and prayers....it means a lot.

We're going home today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kassidy is still not eating real well but they are hoping that after we get her in her own environment she'll start eating, if not, we'll be back. She knows we're going home...I started packing things up and got her dressed and she has been grinning from ear to ear! We still don't know what made her so sick. They said the adenovirus couldn't have made her that sick but she is doing better now and we'll take that. We are going to watch her incredibly close over the next few weeks and if she shows signs of decreased urine or swelling, they will consider more testing. As for now though, she still has the doctors baffled and we are going home and hopefully never returning. Ok, so we'll be back for her surgeries, but that's it!!! LOL

I was hoping to log on this afternoon to see an update on your baby girl. My thoughts are still with you, and I am praying that she continues this rapid improvement.
