The room will be for both my son who is 20months, and the baby on the way due mid December. We're going for a safari theme, and thinking about going with the color "lizard Green" from the Benjamin Moore collection. We might buy some brown paint also for a contrast color, but that's still up for debate.

Here is the room now: I'll break my ideas down picture by picture.

^ This was thier fathers nursery when he was a baby. His parents had someone come and paint a rainbow and clouds in the room. So in person you can still see the lines from the rainbow. We debated seeing if we could pay someone to try to strip the blue paint and fix the rainbow and clouds, but in the end not what I wanted lol. So with the rainbow and the color being so dark we're going to have to "sand" the walls. So that should be fun...

^ Ok so these two are kinda going to be the same minus the color they will be painted. I'm going to take out the closet doors and buy some fabric to make a curtain instead. I will also probably use the same fabric to make a drape for the window. I'm thinking brown fabric? And maybe with a striped colored fabric for the top part? I'm also thinking about only painting the inside of the closet brown? Any thoughts?

Decorating the room:

Besides the drapes. I am going top make some scrapbook letters for my son it's going to be zebra stripes. I think that will look great on the green wall. I'll have to wait to do the letters for this baby because we aren't going to be finding out the sex until s/he is born! All the furniture is like an oak-ish brown, besides his toy box which is birtch vineer(sp). I'm thinking about painting that too, but IDK.

Ok that's all I can think of for now if any one has any ideas or opinions to share please do!!

I'd buy some chair rail and put it up on the wall (about 1/3 the way up) or where ever is flattering with the crib. Below it, i'd paint brown and above it i'd paint the green you are talking about.

Maybe do one child's name in the zebra and the other in a diff. animal print? Both in zebra would be cute, too, though.

I haven't seen a whole lot of fabric instead of doors that I like, I personally would replace the doors... but it could easily turn out cute, so try it and see what you think! You can always put new doors up if you don't like it.

If you don't have a crib set picked out, try kids line (babysupermall.com) they have lots of crib sets that also have matching twin/full size sets. Their Jungle 123 is really cute.

My mother always used to hang up a baby blanket on the wall for memorabilia and decoration. I think it's a pretty creative thing to do.
