I normaly have spotting for about 2-3 days before my actual period... i've had it for almost a week now- and the spotting is now more brown and smelly instead of well- how it should be...
am i worrying about nothing? or could something actually be wrong with me? i currently do not have health insurance because well- michael hasnt added me to his plan. aurgh MEN!
so i dont want to go in and spend a couple hundred if its something that i shouldnt be worrying about.

My opinion ~ and I usually have one ~ see a doctor. Or at least call Ask A Nurse. Anytime anything is strange or different with 'that part' of your body I think a doctor should know. It could be nothing ~ nothing at all. But it could be something you don't wanna mess with. Maybe a yeast infection (I've heard they're painful too though), or maybe just some old blood your body hasn't gotten rid of till now. You never know. Our bodies are strange things sometimes and do things we don't understand. Usually we know our OWN bodies very well, so if this is something unusual for you to do I'd say get a professionals opinion. I don't want to upset you or get you worried (but I think you already are a little worried anyway). Please just get checked out. I know it costs alot, but you're worth it I'm sure. Even to just have the relief of knowing you're okay is worth it.
So mine did'nt smell...but it was spotty brown when I first got prego with Abby! So def worth a docs trip! Tell Michael to pull his head out...if you stay home with his daughters the least he can do is pay a little a month for your health!
Periods can very....depending on if things change in your life, or your health. Sometimes it can be a smelly discharge, I had a problem like that a few years back.....When I asked the doc she said it can be old blood passing through, like someone said above. I would wait until next month and see how your period goes then, if its the same then I would see a doctor, but there really isnt a point in going, my opinion, especially if the funds arent available, or lack of insurance. lol.
I know we just met and all....but mine would be brownish..but didnt smell before I would get mine. My dr said it was normal because it is older blood and it just takes longer for it to make it out. So because it's spotting before your period it is just taking it longer to get out. If your worried call before making an appointment...see if they can help that way.
It could be old blood, I had the same problem a couple of years ago, when I was on the depo birth control shot. Best thing to do is go to the doc, they will give you an anitbiotic!
well yesterday went into full blown period so im thinking that it was old blood like many of you said. I generally use tampons but am trying pads this time thinking maybe well... that what needs to come out comes out... lol

see a Dr. money is worth spending rather than asking women you dont know on the internet. specially with a woman concern. if your hooha smells its time to see the Dr! there should be walk in clinics or low income clinics nearyou somewhere. almost al towns have them. ask a Dr if he or she will do a sliding scale fee for you if not. But please dont wait, please dont rely on the advice of people you dont know on the internet. call a Dr or go to a walk in clinic.
