This is my fourth child. Third homebirth. I birthed my girls both at home followed by a planned homebirth turned c-section, and now a succesful hbac!

Stella Moon, 10 lbs, 4 ozs, 20 in. long.

I woke up June 5th at about 4:30 leaking water. I changed and went back to bed. I was kinda half asleep and thought maybe I had just peed myself a little, lol! So about 6:30 I woke up again and stood up and was gushing water, so I came out into the kitchen where my hubby was up fixing his coffee and getting ready to go to work and he's all "you're up early" and I said " yeah, I'm leaking amniotic fluid, you better not go to work" so, we called my midwife to let her know. She came out about 8:30 and checked me, I was about 3 cm, and 70% effaced. I wasn't having any real contractions at that point. Which was weird, because with my other births, my water didn't really break until I was in active labor. Anyway, I called my best friend who had been anxiously awaiting this event for awhile, to let her know not to stray too far from a phone. She was so excited she decided to go ahead and come over even though nothing was really happening yet. She got here around 9:30. My mom and sister followed shortly there after. Everybody was just champing at the bit to see some action, lol! Anyway, I started to have mild contractions, and we walked and walked and joked around all day long, and the contractions got my body ready for the impending birth. My friend Brandy and I had this theory that we were going to laugh my way to full dialation, lol! So we joked around a lot. My sis and Brandy got the girls poms poms out and did some cheers, lol! And I teased Brandy about making her massage my perineum and twiddle my nipples. Yes, I have a sick sense of humor, lol! Anyway, we just hung out all day, and evening, things weren't bad at all. About 9 ish, my contractions started to really be intense where I quite talking or laughing through them, but in between I was still okay. I sat on the birth ball, and that felt good. Then at about 11:30, I decided to take a warm shower. Well, as soon as I got into the shower I was hit with about four contractions back to back. I finished the shower, managed to get a skirt on between these killer contractions. I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed my hubby and just hung on him for all it was worth. He was all I wanted. I just wanted to hang on him and moan and deal with these contractions. I did this for a few minutes, then felt pukey so I went and threw up. Then my midwife was like "okay! Here we go! Lets get ready to have a baby!" I went to the bedroom and continued to hang on my man, the contractions were coming almost on top of eachother and were REALLY intense. Then the urge to push came, and I jumped up on the bed, I was about to climb the walls at this point! My body just took over, and I started pushing. My hubby got behind me and helped to hold me up. The plan had been that he was going to be the one to deliver the baby, but I needed him to support me instead. As I'm pushing I started to get a bit freaked and started to breath too fast, and my midwife had to tell me to center myself a bit. That helped and I slowed down a little and let my body work the baby down. She had both hands up against her face, and I had to try not to push for a second while my midwife eased her out a little so I wouldn't tear. Then her head was out, and another push and her body was out. She handed her right up to me, saying "wow! She's a big girl!" I only tore just a tiny bit amazingly. A few minutes later, I delivered the placenta. I remember yelling "thank you fucking god" because I was so happy it was over, lol! It fell on the floor right at my friend Brandys feet, lol, she said later, that she about fainted, lol! She's not good with blood, hehe! Anyway, we weighed her and I about crapped when she annouced her weight at ten pounds! Time of birth was 1:07 AM. Mom popped open some champagne and we toasted. Then everyone went home about 3 ish. and we got some sleep. She slept really well. Oh, and she was definitely over due. Her placenta had calcium spots on it from age, and her skin was peeling. My midwife figures she was about two weeks over due. She's a good baby, really mellow. She won;t really nurse yet, which kinda worries me, because my other babies always nursed well right away, but we still have some time so I figure she'll get the hang of it.

UPDATE! She's nursing now, lol!

And that is the birth of little Stella Moon!

Here she is right after we just changed a humongous crappy diapy. Finally get to test out all those cute cloth diapers, yay, lol!

This isn't the best pic in the world, but it's the only one I have on the comp for now.

YAY ! I love unmedicated home births. I am glad shes eating now. She is a real beauty . Sometimes the bigger babies arent as hungry at first, My DD was 9 lbs 14 oz , and she didnt want to eat too much at birth either, but by day two she was feeding like a champ. I am so glad it went well and everyone is safe. My daughter is a bit bummed She and Stella missed out on sharing birthdays though. Sy wanted to me to tell you that she is " The cutest baby and she wants to kiss her little cheeks off."
