Tribute to my Dad!

I used to take such great offense, When innocently one would say

This or that about my "step-dad", Because I don't see him that way.

He's the one who's always been there, As far back as my memory can go

He's my DAD in every sense of the word, That's all I need to know

If you have to use the label and step-dad is all that will do.

Please listen to what I have to say, let me define it for you.

He was quick to "step" in and meet every need. Big or small it was all the same.

It was never even an issue that we didn't share a name.

The love between our Dad and us is more than any word could say

So if you say he's my step-dad you're right, he was there every "step" of the way!
