Wow can't believe its Thursday already wasn't it just Monday?? I really remember it being Monday and watching my husband load up and roll out AGAIN for another 4-6 weeks. He is an over the road truck driver and has been for 20 years. I was in a massive temper fit mood and feeling sorry for myself for my 15 minutes then its on w/life. I guess I lucked out this week as I had 2 extremely busy days of AVON meetings that lasted all day and into the night so that helped w/him leaving this week. I guess you should say that it helped for me altho we have 2 girls ages 19 & 21 still @ home and it wasn''t so easy on them w/dad leaving and then mom being so busy they were not so happy!! OH what poor lil babies we sure need to grow up!! Our 19 yr old is about to make me explode she flat drives me crazy!! She does nothing and I MEAN NOTHING!!! She won't help around the house w/out me fighting w/her first so its like why go to the trouble I could already have it done myself. She don't/won't work. She thinks she doesn't have to. For some reason we can't get it thru her head that she must work in order to make it in this world. All she is worried about is going to concerts. She wins tickets on the radio stations so she says what does she need money for. Plus her sister works and will give her money. Our other girl works pays her bills is really starting to be responsible, helps around the house, they are so different. I guess I'm gearing up for my battle today since I'm not rushing out the door. I just wish I knew what to do w/her. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I'm 21. Married and living on my own since 17. My 16 year old sister lives with me.

I have figured the way to motivate a teenager is to quit feeding them.

I tell my sister if she doesn't work she doesn't eat. I make her pay rent but I take her money and put it up. I don't tell her I'm doing it. She thinks its just going to us. When she is able to move out, I will give her back all the rent money she has given me so she will have a nest egg to help set her house up when she is ready.

I make my sister do one chore and its hers and hers alone. Dishes....IF they arent done she doesn't watch tv, eat, sleep, shower or anything till they are.

Not sure of your daughters personality or what would work with her but I suggest cutting her off. She's old enough.

Sorry if you though I was a bit harsh but this is just how I handle my sister who is living with us.

Hope things get better!
