I'm sure some of you remember me telling you all about my nephew's motorcycle wreck in December. And how his best friend Benj is considered a hero by the family because he's the one who found chad and got medical assistance to him... Things just keep getting worse.
He wrecked Dec 26
His step dad died March 25
Chad was released from the hospital on March 30th
March 30 Benj's mom had a stroke
She was released on June 7th
Saturday June 8th Benj had a show in Valdosta. He got home about 530am and realized he didn't have his house key. Not wanting to disturb his mom he called Chad and asked if he could come sleep there. Chad of course said yes! Chad got up to wait for Benj to make the ten minute drive.
After 45 mins of Benj not showing up and not answering his phone, Chad woke his dad up. The drove the route that Benj would have taken.
On the same road that my nephew wrecked they found him (half a mile from my Chad's wreck site). Benj had apperently dozed off and ran off the road and then over corrected. He flipped his truck and was unconscience.
Benj broke his neck and his back. Now Chad and his best friend are both paralyzed from the waist down!
What are the odds of two best friends, wrecking on the same road, and both ending up paralyzed from the waist down?
Chad is really torn up about it. He knows first hand the struggles Benj has ahead of him. The mental and physical pain!!!
Chad and Benj consider themselves family, as do their families! So many horrible things happening with in this group! Why?
Why these boys? They are good kids. Have never been in any trouble. Graduated. Had real musical talent and extraodinary goals.
Benj
has been with Chad every step of the way. He visited him in ATL on the
weekends. Did a benefit concert to help raise money to cover medical
bills and travel expenses for Chad's parents. And now I know Chad will
be with Benj every step of his way. And who could be more sympathic and
understanding then your best friend who has been there.
