I am in shock sitting here writing this. Dad went in for his stress test this morning. Got done with today's part of the test and then ran to his Doctor's office to insist on a prescription for the pain in his leg. He said it is so bad he can hardly walk. They sent a strong medicine prescription off and then called him this afternoon and asked if he could come back in for an ultrasound just to be sure. As soon as they placed the wand on his leg, there it was. A massive blood clot. Dad says it is literally running the length of his leg from his knee to his ankle. They say the episode on Tuesday was most likely cause be a small piece coming off and traveling to his lungs, thankfully it passed through without any major side affects. The Doctor apologized. He told Dad at his appointment Wednesday that it was not a clot and that is was most likely from stress and possible arthritis. He is heading to the Hospital now to start on blood thinners and will be there for several hours. I am in tears now just thinking about how easily this could have taken him from us. I give my Dad a hard time and am not as nice as I probably should be. Isn't it sad how it takes something like this to make you realize just how much you love someone? Thanks to everyone for your kind words and thoughts. This will be a long road ahead but at least we know what is going on. Thank you and love to all.

I'm so glad he's okay!  That is a major lesson...if you think something is more serious...it's okay to insist on more testing.  Wow, I can't believe it's the same doc/group of docs that missed my cancer for 6 months!  They don't seem to think worst case scenario.  Most docs probably order more tests to cost more money but sometimes that's not a bad thing...  Give him hugs for me!
