Spin a web of words dear Charlotte...

I honestly don't know the flowers "official" name but we've dubbed this flower by 2 names. I call it "Crazy Daisy" and my husband calls it "Shotgun Daisy" since it looks as if the petals were shot at !

Here's a cute little story.....

My husbands grandmother lived alone in St Helens, Oregon. She admired these flowers in her neighbors yard and one day asked the neighbor if she could have a cutting of them to grow them herself. The neighbor downright refused to share. Months go by and grandma notices in the paper that the neighbor had died. So what does she do? She hops the fence, at age 80 I might add and takes a sampling, enough for her yard, my father in laws and a few of the other neighbors. Once its growing well in my fil's yard they bring a sample down to California for us and we've been growing it ever since. The blooms last for a long time and although it stinks a little I do feel this is one of my favorite flowers. It reminds me to be kind to others (and share) and that if an 80 year old woman can climb a fence for a flower well maybe someday I will have her will power and take some risks along the way too.

I think it might be referred to as the "Shasta Daisy" but I like the names we've given to it.

Beautiful first bloom from my garden...
