I did it!!

I can't believe I actually did it!! Ready??? I said NO!! That's right, I actually said no to a door to door salesman! This is a monumental feat for me! I once got talked into buying a super expensive vaccuum cleaner from a door to door salesman! (the next day I called and had them take it back because I couldn't really afford it)

I am one of those people that get drawn into the pitch & feel bad for the person trying to make a living,earn $$ for college, etc... I have these 3 HUGE books on my bookshelf collecting dust that are supposed to help my kids do better in school. The only time they come out is when my kids need a hard surface to draw on.

Today it was a young man selling magazines to earn a $1,000 scholarship for vet school. He complimented my puppy up and down! He told me how shy and nervous he was as he continued his sales pitch. I ALMOST bought it but at the last minute I stood firm and said NO!! I feel so empowered! What a beautiful word No can be!

My husband will be SO proud!

I'm learning how to say no, with grace.....I'm not so good yet! : ) So, the no's might seem mean...but, at least I'm learning! : )
