So according to BMI charts, I am obese. I can't stand those things! They do not take into account bone structure and/or muscle mass. How is it an accurate measurement if those variables are not considered? The nurse at my Dr's agrees with me. She told me that someone who is 5'0 and weighs 110 lbs is overweight according to the BMI. What bullshit! So now I have to see another nutritionist (saw one already from the MOMs program). I told my Dr that I will not see another nutritionist because I already eat healthy and get exercise. I've lost about 11 lbs and I'm not trying! The Dr isn't happy about that either but that is how my body is responding to being preggo. I can't stop it and I won't eat junk food to gain the "required" weight. Don't they understand that everyone is different and unique when it comes to pregnancy? My friend lost 60 lbs during her pregnancy (did not gain an ounce) and had a 24" long healthy as a horse baby. I really can't stand our "healthy guidelines". They are not tailor made for the individual, which is how it should be IMO. We can't all have the same guidelines seeing as we are all different and require different nutrition and exercise.
