Well he has arrived!! Although not in the manner would have chosen.
I continued passing large clots the largest being the size of a softball so we decided to stay on since my clots were getting bigger. We did luck up with a great natural minded ob, doula and nurse unfortunately the only midwife on call was really a medwife and I didn't want her there. I spoke briefly to the ob about how I didn't like her because 5 minutes into us arriving she is talking pit and c-section! My ass! God bless my husband he fought so hard for us we arrived at the hospital at 1am and he fought for us every step of the way for everything I wanted. It may have been in a hospital but I labored naturally at home the 19th and the 20thand than 1am Monday till 4pm Tuesday when I gave birth to him at 4:49pm. We are disapointed that we didn't have a homebirth and that is something I will have to come to terms within time but truthfully I am not sure without a trained midwife I would have been able to handle the afterbirth where I bled enough for it to pool on the ground and passed 4 more softball type clots but I am proud that We labored there as long as we did with no Iv, no pit, no epi, nothing... I am proud that my husband supported me and when he caught the medwife talking about pit and c-section he told her he would take me home if it was brought up again. The birth was a little more hecticand medical then I had hoped but Michael was allowed to catch him and I nursed right away. He never left my sight. When we asked about the placenta we were told we needed to fill out paperwork by the RN who also basically told him it could easily be lost...hint..hint he went and got a cooler and took it home.
Well I need to run, I am still tired but other then a tiny skid mark feel great. He doesn't have a name yet but I will let you all know when we decide. He was 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches long.
Thank You Cindy, and for everyone else who prayed for us,
