We have a name for Landon's behavior!  I know, tantrums at 2 are NORMAL.  I accept that.  Violent outbursts with the intent to harm others, and an absolute loss of self control; however, are not, at any age, and ESPECIALLY not at age 2.  We were told its called Episodic Dyscontrol and he's been referred to a behavioral specialist. 
As for his speech regression, its totally unrelated and he'll fully recover.  Basically, his words came in before his communication skills.  He was "talking," but wasn't communicating.  He didn't see the point of talking, so he stopped.  Now that his communication skills are developing, his words are returning, with therapy.  As long as he continues to progress, its just something to watch but not worry about.
