Finally, after living with MIL since February, with SO and I along with DS sharing one medium sized bedroom, a small closet, and a tiny dresser, we found a place we LOVE!!!!
We've been looking and looking and looking for something in our price range that wasn't tiny, or dirty, or in an unsafe neighborhood, and we FINALLY found one!!!
I wasn't sure the guy would accept our application, since when he showed it to us he had already turned down 3 people, and he had scheduled at least 3 others to see it, but in the end, he liked our app the best.
It's a home that was split up into two, but we get 2/3 of it. We get the big front porch and the front door. When you go in, all there is is a small foyer, a closet, and the stairs. Up stairs there's the bathroom, a kitchen big enough for a small table, a dining room, living room, and another long narrow room that would be used maybe as an office or reading room. Then there's a door with another set of stairs, and up there is a HUGE open area that would be our bedroom, a ginormous walk in closet, two storage areas under the eaves, and a decent sized bedroom for DS. It's right next door to the elementary school, and there's a field across the street and a park down the road.
I was thinking of babysitting, since we're so close to the school, I could do after school care once it opens again.
After all of the crap we've been through, we *deserve* this place, something respectable, something we could feel at home in, something we aren't ashamed of or embarrassed by =)
I've been so giddy it's not even funny!! I had to get it out
