I'm obese.  I have been for a long time now.  I don't like it, and I've tried lots of different things to try and change it but I've consistently gone back to my unhealthy ways.  So now it's time for something new.  I'm calling it "The Nintendo Program".

I'm starting with My Weight Loss Coach for the DS.  At the very least, this little game helps me keep track of what I'm doing in the day for physical activity and food consumption.  Journaling has always been helpful when I'm trying to lose weight and that's what this does.

Second, is WiiFit.  It's going to take some work to figure out where I really stand with this one.  I'm using it as a workout.  I like that there's a variety of activities to do.  I've managed to break a sweat with it.  If that changes I can always pick up one of the other Nintendo titles for cardio and continue with the WiiFit for the yoga and strength training.

So I've come through my first week.  I was doing really well until Thursday.  I'd done the WiiFit on Sunday night, gone to the gym on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, kept track of everything with My Weight Loss Coach and then I got tired.  I missed my goals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  I'm not going to beat myself up about it though, I'm not going to quit.  I'm going to try again this week.  At the very least I'm trying for one more day on a streak.

Last week I weighed in at 213 (which I think was an aberration, I had been 216 the week before and hadn't really done anything to contribute to weight loss) and today I weighed in at 215.  I guess that's a 2lbs gain but I'll wait until I do my WiiFit tonight before I sigh in defeat.

Think of it this way, those extra 2 pounds COULD be muscle built from the exercise!!!

Keep trying, I know I am...I keep falling off the wagon, lol...
