This is tough. I was raised in a reformed Jewish family. I grew up being made fun of, called names, having pennies thrown at me, and not being allowed to play with some of my classmates. I have even been told in grade school that I was personally responsible for the death of Christ.

As an adult I have converted to Christianity because it is WHAT I BELIEVE. That doesn't mean I do not cherish my memories of growing up. Yesterday I was baptized. It has not been one WHOLE day as a Christian and I have encountered the same narrow minded, disheartening negativity.

Honestly I can not say I am surprised.People are so intolerant of one another. After my experiences I am making it my highest priority to actively make sure I am not like that and I am raising my children to love and accept everyone for who they are.

Growing up I thought the Jewish kids had it worse, now I see that the Christians (and other religions anyone I didn't mention) have it equally as tough. Don'T we all want the same thing in the end?

I know I cant single handly make everyone accept and be kind to one another but I can make sure that type of influence and intolerance stays out of my life. It is a start.

Well said!  It seems someone always has to claim superiority and trash the belief's of others in the same breath.

Very well said!  I agree with sherriet.  We are all his children - so why don't we act like it.

So true, everyone seems skeptical and intolerant of people who are different than they are.  It is too bad really.

It is very sad...

I once head the phrase, we are all on different paths to the top of the same mountain.

Just because we all may choose different ways to get there in the end I believe that as long as you are kind respectful, and do right by people who cares if you are christian, jewish, pagan...etc.

I see the same thing.  It is sad.  The best thing we can do is set good examples and hope that others follow suit.
