Many of you have been asking how Kassidy is doing and I really appreciate the concern. I would love to respond to everyone individually but with work and taking care of her I don't have a lot of time! she is doing ok. She is still crying when she urinates which is very concerning. After talking with the neurosurgeon, he suggested that we wait to do any further testing until after her kidney tests in July because it isn't uncommon to see kidney disease along with the tethered cord. If the tests come back positive for kidney diesase, he said we would probably do her surgery pretty quick to cut the tether and remove the cyst on the spinal cord.

I am waiting to have Kassidy evaluated by Early Intervention to determine if they can send a physical therapist in to her her reach her milestones. I work with her all the time but apparently what I am doing is not helping. I was very discouraged last night after I talked with the Services Coordinator from Early Intervention because she said there is a little boy that is 2 that had surgery for the tethered cord when he was about Kassidy's age because of kidney issues. He now has to have the surgery again and still can not walk. She said it was very strange because he sat up early (just like Kassidy), didn't roll over until 9 months (Kassidy rolled over at 8 1/2 months) and showed NO interest in crawling (Kassidy could care less cuz she can roll everywhere!). She said the cases just sounded so similar that it was scary. I pray to God she only has to have the one surgery but we'll play the cards we're dealt!

Kassidy is really enjoying being at home most of the time. I found someone to come into my house and take care of her 4 days a week so she only has to go to daycare 1 day a week. It seems to be working well. We'll see if it cuts back on her illnesses!!!

I'll post another update after we get the test results back (should be on July 7th).
