Attempted Insult

It is sad when people must put others down.  My mother used to tell me that it was to make themselves feel better.  I am not sure about that, but I know I am not a lazy person at work, so when a co-worker flat-out tells me I am lazy – it makes me wonder what motivates them.  I believe this particular person is acting in vindictiveness, but it is not uncommon for her to flap her trap at anyone.  I work really hard – both at work and in my personal life, so it bothered me a little at first when she said it, but after thinking about it, I remembered that I don’t define myself according to this person’s opinions.

There are always going to be people such as your co-worker.Glad you are not letting her get to you.I usually give them a WTH look.Ha Ha--lately I've not been holding much back.Sometimes I wonder why I should remain so polite.Good for you to take the high road.

Thanks!  I've not been holding back lately either - as we get older (I just turned 40), I think we begin to wonder WHY we are holding back....ya know?  Anyways, I told my boss, who is also her boss, and I believe he actually said something to her!  I just told him that I didn't appreciate what she said and she hasn't said a peep to me since!
