Umm... I read that article... and nowhere does it say the troops are coming home today.  They are withdrawing back to the bases we still have there located outside the cities.  We will continue to have troops there as back-up when ASKED for by the Iraqi officials, in case they are  not ready to handle things on their own yet.  I do think this is a good thing (or I hope it is... we will find out soon whether the Iraqi government can handle it's own people or not)... but you have to be careful not to read into the article things that are not true.  The troops are NOT coming home today by any means.... hopefully all goes well and we can withdraw our troops on the previously sceduled time table as planned.

Still.. it is a good day for the Iraqis... and hopefully for the future and the article is worth reading.

um.. if you seriously believe that I literally mean they're ALL going to be home TODAY, you've got issues. Thanks for the correction mommy-dear. But you're preaching to the choir. I know exactly what I'm talking about though. My friend & her unit are one of many currently on their way home as well. That doesn't mean they're ALL going to be home TODAY. No one is so stupid to actually believe they could pull that off in a day! How stupid do you think we are?

HOWEVER, yes, many of them ARE on their way home at this time.  That does not make a dent into how many are actually there, but their homecomings have begun.
