First let me say; I do not have a dead body (that I am aware of) on the premises, nor have I ever had one. Please continue reading, this post is not as morbid as the title insinuates. I think you will be surprisingly pleased...
I was thinking today about friendships. I have been blessed with some very special friends over the years. There have been certain seasons in my life when just the right person has been placed in my path...and when that period has passed, the friendship fades just like the changing colors of the season. There are other friends, however, that are cemented into my life-true forever friends.
I totally believe in kindred spirits. I do not think "age" has to put an end to those long conversations that continue late into the night. The kind filled with girlish giggling and heartfelt dialogue; whether in person or on the phone with a bosom buddy. Women need those strong friendships, like the air we breathe. We need someone to raid the chocolate stash with when we are PMSing. We need someone that we can share our deepest secrets, hopes and dreams. Someone we can ask advice or turn to when a need comes up. Please do not think that I am suggesting that we take away from our marriage relationship. But, even my husband would agree that a "girlfriend" is a requirement for his sanity...
And the ultimate friendship would be-a dead body friend. I just recently heard this term and absolutely love it! A "dead body friend" is someone that you can call up in the middle of the night/early morning and say, "I've got a dead body at my house..." Without hesitation, no questions asked, this person will come running.
I will pause a second while you contemplate who you would call...
Hopefully most of us will never need help to dispose of a body, but we all need friends that we can call in a moment of crises. Someone who will get out of bed in the dead of night, drop everything in a heartbeat, or do whatever is required to lend a hand in a time of need.
What is a girl supposed to do with a dead body? Call her "dead body" friend!
I'm grateful that I have some very special dead body friends. I hope they realize that I would do the same for them as well. I am pretty sure that I will never have the need for body removal, but it is nice to know I have someone to call if a serious problem ever arises.
So, do you have a dead body friend? I pray you do! Why don't you let that person(s) know today...you don't necessarily have to mention the dead body part(lol)-just how much that special someone means to you.
Tags: funny, sentimental, friends, dead bodies, who you gonna call...
I am also grateful for my dead body friends and what is even better is that i have them in different countries. It is nice to know they will not only be here but they would hide me from the law also. I would just have to decide where I wanted to spend the rest of my life.
I'm headed over to tell my friend what a great pal she is...and you bet I'm telling her she's my "dead body friend" and am linking it back here LOL!
I know just who i would call. Plus I have 2.5 acres of woods and a big shovel for those who don't have a spot to plant the DB
I don't have a dead body friend, heck I don't even have a forever friend. I think I have 5 friends total in my life and I couldn't trust any of them not to get the cops involved. thanks now i'm really bummed![]()
I love my friends but not enough to be an accomplice in their crime. I'm not going to jail for anyone, and hopefully no friend of mine would be trying to dispose of a body. Okay I know I'm taking the analogy way too seriously!!
The only person I can say is a DBF for me is hubby. I guess that's pretty good though

This sort of reminds me of that Dixie Chicks song/video where the two best friends kill and bury the one's abusive husband. I'm guessing that they were definitely DBFs (dead body friends).
I used to have a true DBF, but time and circumstances changed our lives so we're not really friends anymore.
