ParaGard IUD Didn't Work 4 Me

After I had my daughter Ava, I had the ParaGard IUD put in place. It was supposed to last up to 10 years, and could be taken out at any time. I went back a week later to see if it was still in place, but the midwife couldn't see or feel the strings. She sent me to get x-rays, and it showed that it was still in place.

When Ava was only 7 months old, I found out that I was pregnant! I went to the doctor and they had to remove the IUD. I was very angry because I didn't want any more children for a long time and my daughter was still just a baby! The damn IUD only lasted for 7 months, not 10 years! My son Ashton came out perfectly healthy and normal.

After that incident, I decided to go to a different hospital and try birth control pills, and I still make my husband wear condoms!
