Why you should own a shredder

When I woke up this morning I went to the bathroom and from the window I saw 3 men around one of my neighbor's blue boxes.  The men were routing through it and writing stuff down, they even took something and hid it in the back of their jeans.  I called the police but the men were gone by the time the cops got here.  The police officer said it was good I called because there has been some identity theft going on in the area!  From now on I am going to be SUPER vigilante about what I put in my blue box!!!

this is why we own a shredder!!!! we shred everything and file everything else in locked cabinet/safe. you just cannot be too careful with your information!! this is a good reminder!

Shredder is a must in these days and times. We shred all of our personal stuff.

Good reminder! When my husband's office was broken into, they stole his recycling bin. We couldn't think of why on Earth they would have done that until I read something about identity theft and connected the two. Forgunately, he doesn't put anything with personal identification in it into the recycling at work. How scary that they were doing it in clear view!

We have one of those confetti shredders. I use it for everything that has an account number, SSN, phone number, etc. I don't want anyone getting anything personal if I can help it.

Why buy a shredder? I have a dog that rips up paper and slobbers on it until the words are not legible lol. I highly suggest a dog.

we have a shredder and use it frequently.  we especially make sure to shred anything with credit card numbers, SSN and those credit card offers that we're always getting.  we also made sure to get one that shreds credit cards so that we make sure the expired one's are shredded as well.

Wal-Mart has an "Identity theft protection kit" you can buy. LMAO it's a paper shredder! We have one at home and at work.
