I am in the process of adopting a boy born October 26, 2008. His BM is my ex-step-sister (if that makes any sense). He has been in my custody sense birth and I can’t imagine life without him. Getting the adoption finalized has taken a long time. We have completed the home study and follow-up visit. We are currently waiting for the court to assign a GAL. Hopefully that will come in the next few days but with the holiday weekend… who knows? He is the only son I have ever known and I am the only mother he has ever known. Sometimes I wish that was enough. My lawyer projects that everything will be official by the beginning of August. Prayers, good wishes, and good thoughts are wanted and welcome. Hopefully it won’t be long now!

She was my step-sister but our parents are now divorced. She was young and had a lot of growing up to do.
