Figuring out what to expect...

So, I've been sick as a dog since last Wednesday.  I started sneezing and coughing very badly, but I figured it was just a cold.  On Friday my gynocologist called me and told me I had an overgrowth of e. coli in my vagina, and I needed to go on antibiotics.  So I got my prescription for Cipro and hoped it would cure my illness as well.

I've been feeling funny down in the area where my uterus is for a couple weeks, but thought nothing of it until Sunday when I went to the minute clinic at CVS and she asked me if I was pregnant when trying to diagnose me for my gross cold, which turned out to be an upper respiratory infection.

So that got me thinking.

On Monday I went to Target and saw that they had pregnancy tests on sale, and as my husband and I have been trying to conceive, I thought, why not?  So I bought the ClearBlue Easy digital tests.  When I got home, I decided to take one....and when it said, "Pregnant" I burst into tears.

I took another one the next day and got the same result.

I was surprised for a lot of reasons--namely, I wasn't due to have my period until Thursday.  Nonetheless, I went to the gyno for a blood test and am waiting for confirmation, but I have no doubt that I am pregnant.  I'm spotting slightly but haven't gotten my period (my periods are like clockwork--every 28 days), my breasts hurt, and everything makes me sick.  I hope the spotting stops soon, even though I know it's normal at this stage of the game, it still makes me a little nervous.

I'm so excited.  My husband and I have been uncertain as to whether or not we can have kids, and being pregnant just brings me such joy.  I am thankful to God every day for this gift.
