Here is a letter received from one, hoping we could find people to adopt some of the soldiers in her platoon.......

In Iraq, right now, more people are dying from suicide than combat
related deaths. This worries me. I know that when a soldier receives
mail it  raises moral. It also lowers it when a soldier doesn't receive
mail. I've been here for a 1 1/2 months. In that time two soldiers have
committed suicide.

I don't get a chance to see everybody in my unit every day. But I worry
about them all. I do not want another soldier to take their own life.
There are so many complexities that are involved in being a soldier that
civilians do not understand. I was wondering if it would be possible to
send some letters of encouragement to my unit?

One in particular:
There is a soldier in my unit who does not receive mail. He likes/could
use crossword searches, trail mix, gum, aa batteries, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, q-tips, deodorant, razors, shaving cream. It would make his
whole deployment to receive some of these things.

Thank you SPC in Baghdad, Iraq

Think of the impact that you could make on someones life with a simple letter, a small package. We currently have close to 500 soldiers waiting for adoption. We also have several other 'teams' to help on. I myself am the leader of Ladies of Liberty team 4. We support the ladies who serve. If you would like more info...... PLEASE! Contact me!
