On Saturday morning, we got up early for breakfast with Daddy, who had worked in the ER the night before. After breakfast, Poppa, Nana, the girls, and I headed to our local town square for the morning parade. The girls had a BLAST!!!! Here's a few pics and the video of them playing at the square.
Waiting on the parade to start with our fans!
All the girls...
Makenna is not a fan of loud noises, so this became her way to deal with them. LOL!!!
Also, I have the oddest thing happen while I was there. I am sitting watching the girls when an gentleman walks up and excitedly exclaims, "Are you the lady from What Not to Wear?" I said, "Yes, " and then he asked to take a picture with me. I said okay, and he gets his friend to come over and take a picture. He sat down beside me on the blanket and the picture was taken. He then continued to tell me all about how much his wife LOVES the show and that he can't use his TIVO, because of the WNTW episodes on it. He complimented my show and new look. It was too funny, and all the people around us were trying to figure out who I was. I was so embarassed that I kinda hid behind Makenna for a bit. LOL!!!! There's my 15 minutes of fame!
Before the parade started the Lions Club came by and gave everyone an American Flag.
The girls then began this, which was too cute and a great way to pass the time waiting for the parade to arrive.
After this, we went home and ate lunch, took a nap, and then got ready to go back to the square for the fireworks!
Daddy and Aunt Sandra joined us for fireworks. We got there early and got what we thought was a good spot (got to love trees).
Here's the girls playing with before the fireworks.
Luckily there was tons to do. We took the girls to the bounce houses. We looked at all the booths with stuff for sale. We went to the local church which had a cool off room for the kids to play in (biggest hit of the night). We ate some really great food. LOL!!!! And finally we watched the fireworks.
My girls are identical, but their reactions are NOTHING ALIKE!!!
Issy LOVED them. She could hardly contain her excitement. She went from one adult to another telling us about the stars and the color of the stars.
I would have bet good money that Makenna would have been our most afraid. She was afraid at first. She tried to get under the blanket we were sitting on and hide, but as the night went on, she started peeking out at the lights and telling me the colors of the explosion.
Alyssa, who is rarely scared of anything went CRAZY!!!! She kept trying to hide under the chairs. She clung to Nana like the plague was rolling through. At the end of the show, when they do the finale with all the fireworks going off at once, her waist was at Nana's shoulder and she was holding onto the chair for dear life. It was all Nana could do to keep her from falling on her head.
(That being said, Alyssa slept through the night, Makenna ended up in bed with me and Frank.)
