Pick My Brain If You dare

Venture into my crazy life w/ boys!

So here i sit almost 3 hours from home after a insane week. Sometimes, I swear, I don't know whether to laugh, cry or scream at how crazy my life has become and continues to be. So i guess I should start at last Monday, when the crazy began. Took my boys to the neurologist which is a very long, almost 3 hour drive. Asher has extremely bad night terrors that last all night he has been seeing the neuro for about 2 1/2 years now. all medications decrease the terrors but don't stop them, so last month they did a sleep study for one day and night. I fully expected to go in there and hear, "this is the Medicare he needs have a nice day." WOW was I in for a shock. "Your son is having seizures not night terrors." is what I was told!!! My heart sank, it actually felt like my heart hurt. Then the icing on the cake, "and since Phoenix (my almost 3 y.o.) has night terrors too we think his may actually also be seize rs as well". My hands were shaking so I put them in my pockets so the Dr. wouldn't see, I wanted to run out of the room crying but was brave mommy for the kids and my hubby. This never occurred to me. My hubby has seizures but with his he hits the floor, asses out, pukes, turns red, completely stiff, (ect.). Asher was even having them during the day and we didn't even know it. I felt like the worse mom ever that I didn't pick up on seeing that something was wrong. Yes, no one else knew either but I'm mommy I should know everything! i don't have night terrors but most people in my family do so that's what they seemed like to me. So that was Monday. Tuesday night, my hubby works nights, I get a phone call from his job. Your husband had seizure and is being taken to the hospital. By the time I get there they're getting ready to send him home. He had been puking so he was unable to keep is meds down and that's why he had the attack so they were gonna let him go. Next day he's sick but doing good, no seizures. Things continue on the on the 4th he was vacuuming the rug (that's right, he helps wih house work...is he kick ass or what? LOL) and I heard a thud then retching sounds. I look up and don't see him. i run into the living room and, yep, there he is on the floor vomit tingand beet red. When's it's done about 30 sec. later he has another one. I figure if he just had two I'd better call the paramedics. So they come and I have my youngest screaming as they take him away, "ddaaaadddyyyyyyyyyyyyy my daddy i want my daddy come daddy heeeelllpppp mmmmeeeeeeeeee dadddddyyyyyyyyyyy!!!" and crying the whole time. Turns out we were lucky enough that we actaully had a smart DR. this time, and he found the real problem. Billy, my dh, had a severe ear infection. This was causing the vomiting...not a flu and it can also he said  make people who already have seiezer problems have them. Did I mention me and dh have no insurance? Yeah, those pills put us back 60 bucks. But it had to be done for sure!!! Now my dh is is very sweet and caring but after a seizure he changes for a day or so, very grumpy and hot tempered. He gets upset and yells easily. Thank God he normally only has a couple a year or I'd have to kill him *LOL*. So I'm stressed and walking on egg shells. Then the fireworks start. Dogs barking, kids scared, and grumpy dh...happy freakin' forth to me! Around midnight or 1 a.m. things calm down and the kids and critters & hubby go to sleep. the about 3 a.m. our neighbor thinks it would be a great idea to shoot off his cannon, yes, that's night I said CANNON. Oh, I didn't mention we live in the boonies in freakin' redneckville? well we do. We also live in a mobile home so boy did our house shake from the noise. I don;t know how many times he shot that dang thing off, but after several I called the cops. i told them midnight fine...but 3a.m., I don't think so! Ok, skip ahead to today now. We had a almost 3 hour drive to get here. Phoenix, the little one, puked in the car on the way here so that was a pit stop and there was a couple semi's piled up and one on fire so that stopped traffic for a while so we were about 1/2 hour late getting here. Long story short, the hooked him up to the wires on his poor little head and here we sit until Wednesday when we can leave...2 nights and 2 days of this. poor kid can't even leave the bed unless to pee because the camera has to stay on him at all times. You want a 5 year old boy to stay in bed for 48 hours? Ok then...good luck. not only that but they're not gonna give him any meds, even the night terror meds so they can see everything. God help me tonight!!! , and tomorrow for that matter. I also have my hubby and little man in here in the room so this is fun *insert sarcasm here*! ok well that updates everyone on what's going on here. I've had many friends write and ask how we were doing and this is easier then writing everyone.

------------------------------------------------UPDATE---------------------------

Asher a few months ago and Asher today with his "hat" as he call it *lol*.

I want to thank everyone for the kind comments and e-mail I have gotten, very sweet of ya'll. We are still here at the children's hospital and will be until tomorrow (afternoon probably). We will take to the Dr. then and find out if they've found anything and where we go from here and the next step. Asher is extremely bored and Phoenix is climbing the walls...no really, he trying to climb the walls (he likes spider man)!!! That's about the only update I have right now from crazy town. If I find out anything new tonight I will try to update, if not I'll update tomorrow. Thanks again everyone.

I'm so sorry....I hope the 48 hour test tells you all something and that they can do whatever needs to be done to help Asher. And, I hope at some point you can figure out Phoenix's issues too. I'm glad the Doc was able to figure out your DH's problem...I hope he will be okay. I'm really sorry all this is happening. I will be saying a prayer for you all!

Prayers for your family to get back to normal and not have to worry about seizures-you must be on pins and needles all day long. Make sure you get your rest caught up before you start driving-don't be too proud to ask for help from everyone you can. Make sure you have enough help before you get home, ok? I will send this out to friends and post it too in our group. ok? So all you have to do is post there if you  want. Christian love and caring.////
