Poor Davis!

 Davis had his first trip to the ER on July 6th. He started scratching at himself on the 4th, but it wasn't until late in the evening we noticed his eye looked red. But his Aunt Danae had hit him with a ball earlier, so I thought he was just going to get a black eye. UH...however, I was a little off......

Here he is the evening of the fourth:

You can see he had his left eye is starting to get swollen and his face is a little red. The next morning, his penis was swollen up like a .....hmmm, well..there just isn't a good analogy, but trust me it wasn't pretty and he was uncomfortable! (Don't worry, no pics! lol) So, he looks like that when we go to bed then we wake up to this:

 

Right before we brought the camera out he was crying because he didn't want to go to the doctor! But as soon as the camera was focused on him, he was all smiles!! I don't know where he gets that from!! LOL!!! Here is another super cheesy one!

That is as big as he could smile due to the swelling! What a ham! I wish I could have video taped the ER trip. He was SUCH a ham! The doctor thought he would pull a fast one and spell out S-H-O-T, so Davis wouldn't know it was coming! YEAH, RIGHT! I wouldn't be too surprised if Davis had turned and said, " I don't want an I-N-J-E-C-T-I-O-N!" LOL!! Silly Doctor! Anyhow, Davis did great-I thought! He cried at the shot, but turned over when I told him that he was getting to show the nurses his butt! He thought that was funny!! (Yes, I know I am raising a monster! And there is no one to blame but myself!)

so what was the out come??  what caused him to get all swelled up? a food alergie??

I am with them, what did they say it was? I called Davonna at the store (cause I couldn't get ahold of anyone else) yesterday just to see if you guys went to the doctor and found out you had to run to the ER that night. What all did the doctor say? How is he doing this morning??

You tell him that his AunnaMena knows how he feels and we'll have to show him my swollen face pictures!! Although I don't think I smiled!

I figured those doctor siggies would come in handy!!

The doctor was VERY contradicting. First he said he would be surprised if it was poison ivy, bc of it only being in the two spots it was in..the face and penis. The penis wouldn't have been in direct contact with plant oil, but of course Davis could have touch himself there...but he thought the odds of him JUST touching there was slim. But then, made a comment like "yeah, see it must be contact dermatitis from a plant--you know like poison ivy--because there are no places on his back"???

So anyhow, the ER Doc just gave the steroid shot and Rx'ed steriods and benadryl for him. Then wants to follow up with our regular pediatrician if this didn't help him. But it has only been a day, and he already looks SO MUCH BETTER!!

(Sorry, so much info was left out! I had wrote an entire different post, and as I was saving the draft...my internet went out and I lost it all. I had all this info in the first one and just didn't get to it the second time! lol...journal laziness)

And another apology to Anna Mena...we got back in from the ER at 7am and then I had to work, after that I was just BEAT!
