My daughter is doing a high school service project named         Britt's Blankets: A Schur Way to Warm Nana's and Papa's. She came up with the idea on her own. Her project is in memory of Marvin E. Schur from Bay City, Michigan. The 93 year old WWII Veteran that died of hypothermia back in January 2009 when the electric company shut his electric off. She's collecting new and gently used blankets so her friend and her can distribute them to the local nursing homes and other county agencies that help the less fortunate. Take a moment and check out thier website and let them know what ya think. There's even a poll that thier conducting. They are set up on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter as well. If ya have any questions feel free to ask! Thank you on thier behalf. Check out thier website!          www.brittsblankets.com

We're taking any and all kinds of blankets. We have a men's shelter, Aware, Area on Aging and a few other agencies on our list. Lap blankets will work as well. All they ask is that they either be new or gently used. They don't want to give a blanket away that even they wouldn't or couldn't use. Thanks for the reply!
