I am a Mom, my children are just older... in their mid 20's. One is married and lives half way across the country the other lives at home with Mom and Dad. He's jobless and has been for some time now.
I am his Mother. You cannot imagine the swirls of opinions that encircle my head and poke at my heart. I prefer to not talk about it with family members because they just aren't understanding it. Feel free to send me a message. But remember....I do bite when it comes to my children :)

I HAVE THREE, 31,30 AND 23 THEY WILL ALWAYS BE WELCOME IN MY HOUSE, JOB OR NOT, WHAT IS MINE IS THEIRS ALWAYS AND I DON'T CARE HOW OLD THEY GET AS LONG AS I LIVE THEY WILL HAVE ME TO SUPPORT THEM IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. SO I HEAR YOU AND APPLAUD YOU!
Thank you MSugarKane and older for the quick response and support in your comments. It's comforting to hear similar situations.
We all have hopes and dreams for our future and our children's futures and at times you wonder if it's misleading to go there. Our children are all so different and may be formed by their upbringing but they are in no way us, nor would I want them to every have to be. Just successful and happy in their own opinion. Healthy and capable of survival once I am gone from this earth. I think that is my biggest fear, them surviving without Mom and Dad. Leaving the nest shows us that they are OK without our daily injection of parenting.

We have four adult children , 34, 27, 25, and 21. Each and every one of them keep me more busy then they did when they were young children. That magic age of 18, when kids are supposed to move out, get jobs, have thier own apartments/homes doesn't exist. We all are Moms for life. And then grandchildren appear and it all starts over again.
