I thought you all might be interested in a book I just started reading. It's called Honey For A Child's Heart by Gladys Hunt. Like Jim Trelease's Read Aloud Handbook, it is a guide for finding great books to read to your children. Its first edition was published ten years prior to Trelease's first edition, and its now in its 4th edition with up-to-date recommendations. Trelease's book is filled with fascinating facts, studies, and figures about world of reading and can provide us (as consultants) with great information to share at our events. But Hunt's book is just a pure joy to read. Her writing style is amazing and keeps me from putting the book down. I find it so interesting that she is writing about reading and writing in such a beautiful, compelling manner-- I need to research if she's written any stories of her own because they would have to be truly wonderful.
