A Tale of Two Mommies...PLEASE READ!

It simply started off as a contest offered by a photography studio; Blue Lily (Wendy and Tyler from Blue lily's blog). I heard about it from a friend, Lauren Mitchell (a member here), who was newly establishing herself as a professional photographer. The rules: show them you want to win! Lauren deeply admired the artistry that was Blue Lily long before any contest was ever established. Lauren wanted to be Wendy when she grew up, she was living Blue Lily, breathing Blue Lily...contemplating naming any and all future children Wendy or perhaps changing her current three daughters' names in her honor. Okay, I admit that was my suggestion to Lauren, but I am pretty sure she would seriously consider this if it would help her gain leverage to winning this amazing prize.

Lauren wrote about her dream of winning in her journal; asking for people to show their support of her on this great quest by leaving a note at the Blue Lily blog. She soon added that if she could get 100 comments in her favor that she would do a free photo shoot for a good cause-a pug adoption/rescue group. (this)

She painted her van and other crazy antics were brewing in Lauren's head to prove that she was Blue Lily's #1 fan. She was about to paint herself blue when she discovered something-another Mom also dreaming of the coveted prize.

The other mom's name was Lisa. She was a mother of two; a cancer survivor-fighting like a girl! Lauren also read about Lisa and checked out her link: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lisamittleman. Immediately; having the sweet spirit that makes Lauren, Lauren, she turned 180°. Though she still had a passion for Blue Lily, her energy was now totally focused on helping Lisa WIN. I am still crying while I type this...what started out as simply a contest has turned into an inspirational gift of life and love to all of us following the story behind the contest. Lauren Mitchell wanted to win this contest with every ounce of her being because of her true admiration of a phenomenal gifted photographer--Blue Lily. Then enter Lisa who also has a heart for Blue Lily. I am sure there are others out there salivating over such an amazing prize, but these two emulate something extra special. Lauren is willing to sacrifice her chances of winning to someone who was merely a stranger yesterday morning; now someone she considers a friend. Lauren is turning her passion to win into a passion for Lisa to win. These two women are utterly amazing and I am so thankful that I have been blessed by their paths in life crossing mine. I know it was not Blue Lily's original intentions when creating this contest to show us such a beautiful and self-less act which has unfolded right in front of my eyes, but it was God's ultimate plan...

All I can say is wow . . . Such a great story of human compassion and the joy of friendship. What makes it better is the fact that it's REAL! Awesome and thanks for sharing this.
