My son is 3months old and has been straining as though he is constipated. I need assistance with age appropriate laxative. I already use Mylicon for gas but it doesnt always assist with a bowel movement. Please if you have any ideas on what to do with a constipated, breastfed, 3month old baby boy let me know. All ideas are welcome!!!!

Stage 1 prunes are always good because he will only need a couple of spoonfuls. It consists of prunes and water - that's all. My gaughter was advised by her doctor when my granson was only 2 months old to use clear Karo syrup - one teaspoon with each feeding. These things work very well and are 100% safe. Just prepare yourself for an OVERLOAD!

You can give him a little watered down juice or my dr told me to take Aidens temp rectally. You can try a suppository also. (I never did but my sister has on my nephew when he was about 3 months)

Good Luck
