Landon saw the GI today. Let me just say, he was GREAT. Anyhow, we discussed pretty much everything that's ever made him sick, and decided that, for now, we'll leave well enough alone.
I got confirmation that he DOES have to be on a gluten containing diet for some time prior to testing, to get an accurate result when we test for celiac. They couldn't track down his blood test from last summer (done at his ped's old office), but it would be useless if they could, because he was gluten free anyway. If he's gluten free, then the antibodies won't be there on a blood test, and the inflammation won't be present on an endoscopy.
For now, we're going to hold off on testing. The ball is in my court, and we can proceed with testing, if and when I want to. I know we likely will test, I just don't know for sure when. I'm thinking of testing him after the holidays. There isn't a lot going on then, as far as activities and what not, so if he's not feeling too great, at least he's not missing a lot. He'll be 2 1/2, so a little older, and perhaps more able to understand that we're doing it to help him, in the end.
Right now I get to collect toddler poop, fun. Then I get to drive it to the hospital. More fun. I just have a hard time making the decision to knowingly make my child ill, for several weeks, even if it IS in his interest, int he long run.
