I especially love colored pencils but for drawing any type of pencil will give you shadings and effects you can get nowhere else.
Pencils are great for datebooks (yup - not electronic) and checkbooks (no -not online) and to write quick notes to yourself you can erase in a moment so no one else sees. Hard to carry a dry erase board everywhere.
You do not have to worry about one running out of ink or having the batteries go dead.
Pencil marks are easier to remove from walls than most other writing marks. And rarely do people mark on other people's faces with pencil, but you can mark on a wall where a picture should be hung. You can use a pencil to doodle and use stress energy.
They are great advertising instruments. Everyone picks one up at trade shows. I put them in pinatas.
Sharpeners on the other hand.....
Comments:
I have a lot of pencils. Colored and #2. Automatic and ones that need to be sharpened. I kinda collect them but I use them, too. And since I have a little one, well, they are an art supply staple - so I have an excuse to buy more ;)
