Ok, So my baby is going to be a year old in 3 weeks, and I am so overwhelmed with the thought of breaking him from him bottle! I am really dreading this. He will not take juice out of a bottle, but won't take formula out of his sippy cup, which he's been successfully drinking out of since he was 6 months. The main problem will be bed time and he usually wakes for a small one in teh middle of the night. My granny and a friend of mine suggested using a pacifier but he refuses it. He threw it away when he was 4 or 5 months old... I gave it to him and he put it in his mouth for half a second and threw it on the floor and won't take one... any advice would be awesome... He has done everything else early and quickly, but  Ihave  a feeling this will be a tough one... Thanks Mommies everywhere!!

Ask him if he wants to be a "big boy" or a "baby". If he says big boy, then tell him the bottle is only for babies and since he wants to show you he's a big boy, he has to drink from his sippycup, no matter what he drinks. If he starts crying for a bottle, tell him you have a big boy now, not a baby. And that you are proud of him for being Mommy's big boy. That worked with all three of my kids and my grandson. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
