Ever heard the expression "We have a licence to get married, a licence to drive, a licence to fish, but no licence to parent. It is a shame!"
Every woman on here is a parent (or a weirdo). That is how we found one another. We have the common bond of motherhood, yet a few lack the skill.
Yesterday, I was puttering around of facebook. A "friend" of mine posted that she was going to watch the movie Bruno with her 16 year old daughter. She had downloaded it on her computer. (This isn't a post about illegal down loads. I know they suck so don't tell me.)
My heart skipped a beat when I saw her wall post. I immediately responded:
Me: I heard there was full on anal sex. Detailed on how it works.
Her: Really? It's rated R, not X......if it really shows that, I'll turn it off all together......
Me: I don't know I haven't seen it. They were taking about it on "The View". That is what they said. They said it was hard core porn. They warned strongly that if you are an adult you might be offended . They said that they warned even stronger from letting anyone under 18 see it.
Her: I scanned through it a little bit earlier today and it looked about as bad as Borat.
Me: I do know that it was big news that his butt hole got burned when he was shooting the movie. Apparently he was having his hair around it bleached for the shots.
Later time has Lapsed:
Her: this movie is SO perverted!!
Me: Did you let her watch it?
Her: We are both watching it and I have a big piece of cardboard that I hold in front of her face when I need to.
Okay here I say nothing and roll my eyes at her stupidity.
Her again later: NC 17 is what it should be. I never would have let her just watch it...even if she was 17 (she will be in 4 months). She maybe got to see 1/2 of it.
Now this woman was an idiot. Someone tells you there is full on butt sex in the movie and you let your kid watch it. Then are surprised it "perverted".
I am all for free speech. I think it is fine that the movie exists. If an grown person wants to go see it and it tickles their funny bone, good for them. I am just saying don't be an idiot and take your kids. That just means you suck as a parent.
Comments:
I am not saying there isn't worse things in the world. It is pretty bad parenting though.
It's too bad Bru-NO is getting so much attention. If I were Homosexual I think I would be offeneded. I know as a Heterosexual I do not think it is funny to pan another lifestyle.
As for parenting- isn't it amazing children turn out as well as they do- or not.
Personally, I think the man is hilarious. I know the style of his comedy so there is no way in hell that I would let a child/teenager watch it.

It sounds terrible and it sounds like another example of a parent that never tells their child no- it's really too bad and I hate that! If you heard it was bad and/or came to some bad stuff- WHY would you keep watching it with her?! DumbA**! Quit trying to be your daughter's friend and be her PARENT! That drives me so insane...
Had no interest in watching Borat, I have no interest in watching Bruno. The comedy style seems so lame and stupid. It's worse than dumb and dumber.
Cohen reminds me of Howard Stern. All about shock and not really very funny. Ick.

Meh. I totally agree that sometimes I wish people needed a license to parent but on the other hand I think there are worse things than letting a 16 year old watch a movie like Bruno. Would I show it to my child? No...but to each their own.
Really though, a big piece of cardboard? And people telling her it was perverted...and then she is shocked. That IS stupid.
