So Excited

     I turned 26 years old on July 16th, which was this past Thursday. It started out as an okay day, just an ordinary day, work, nothing special. I knew that my boyfriend had planned a dinner with our parents at a restaurant we liked. We knew his father was not going to be able to go because he had to work at the fire station that night. My parents ended up not being able to go because my mom was still getting over a small surgery she had done the previous Friday. So it ended up being just me, my boyfriend, the kids, his mom and his sister. We went t a fairly new restaurant her ein our city, one that serves sushi and chinese cuisine. We all had a great time, eating really good food in a great atmosphere.
     When we left the restaurant, his mom and sister said that they were going to take the boys with them so they could wrap presents at his sister's apartment. They told us to go drive around for a bit so they could get that done. We drove around for a bit, and ended up downtown on the levee. We walked around for a bit, and then we were sitting down on some steps that they have. We had been talking for a bit, my boyfriend had asked me if I was having a good birthday, and just some things like that. Then we were sitting there looking out across the river and our downtown scenery. All of the sudden, I caught a movement in my peripheral vision, and it was my boyfriend getting down on one knee. My breath literally caught in my throat, and I felt like I had stopped breathing. He took out a box, and I closed my eyes. I  opened them again, and he had opened the box and it had a ring in it. He asked me "Will you?". I quickly closed my eyes again and said that it wasn't real, that it was just a joke. He laughed at me and asked me if I really thought that he would be here with a ring and asking me this question. I looked at the ring, and hugged him crying, and said yes.
     I cannot believe that I am going to be Mrs. Justin Triche. I still feel like I am in a state of shock, a state of euphoria that I really don't want to end. I know that there is so much I have to do before me, so much I have to plan. I never thought that htis would happen to me, that I would meet someone when I least expected it, fall in love, and become his wife. I am going to be his wife!!!! It sounds so right, and it feels so right.
