I am lodging a formal complaint about messages that focus on the negative aspects of aging...now, I am not referring to the humourous cartoons of the women in their robes, hair wrapped in curlers, a protuding nose and sagging chin, sipping their coffee...that is funny.  I'm talking about the messages that have a sermonizing tone...the ones that want to make us feel bad for not lying down and dying because our hair is greying, our chins are sagging, our waistlines are thickening, and so on and so forth.

Send them to me at your own risk...because I don't feel like being nice about it any more.  1) You don't know me well enough to become a psychological counselor to me to help me through the aging process; 2) you are acting on stereotypes and the general classifications of human emotions which can be good in some instances and erroneous in others...4) I have personal friends that I can see and interact and touch on a daily basis that can help me if I ever feel low about getting older 3) I simply don't want to experience it in this type of forum
