I finally got to meet my hubby's siblings and stepmom yesterday. We've been married 3 yrs and he doesn't socialize much with family. It is an old long story of hurts. But anyway, his sister and niece stopped by our home on Saturday for a short visit. His sister said they were having a small family gathering on Sunday, and we were welcome to come. Knowing my hubby, I didn't think we'd be attending. But he fooled us all. We spent six hours there and I really enjoyed it. I got to meet all except 3 of his siblings, there are 9 children all together counting my hubby, and there were 2 more that died already. Four of the nieces and their families were in attendanc, also. It was nice to eat at someone else's for a change. I think I will fit into this family better than I orginally thought. I am looking forward to doing "girl" things with them and to other outings. Hopefully, this is a reconnection for hubby that he'll continue.
