Last Wednesday my husband handed in our packet for the humanitarian transfer. Originally we were told we would have to wait 30-90 days for approval and then work with a detailer to get orders. Well the Chief who helped my husband streamline the packet was heading up to Millington, TN where are packet had to go to. She carried up our packet for us and handed it in. She knows people up there and had the package fast tracked for us. She said we would know in a few weeks. While my husband received a call Friday evening from his chief saying that the packet has been approved and that his new orders would be in Washington DC. The chief said that the paperwork should be coming in this week with the date he has to report in. It could be as soon as next month. If he gets orders to be up there that soon he will go up without us to sign in to his new command then he will find housing then come back to get us. If he doesn't need to report for a few months we can find housing and all go at the same time.
We have a lot of work ahead of us. We are cleaning out things and we are going to take the stuff we don't need or want out to the thrift store a few towns away. I like donating the stuff because they then price the stuff really low and use the money to support their local shelter/rehab. The only problem is everytime I go there I have trouble walking out without buying something. I can get quality clothes for a few bucks. I have trouble resisting the deals. I am also taking two classes this term at school and one is biology. I don't like science but I will have to get through it.
It will be so worth the effort though. I will be able to go to Bethesda Naval Hospital. One of the best of the military hospitals. I should finally be able to get the medical care I need. Not only that but I will only be 7 hours away from my home city where most of my family is. We will be 5 and a half hours away from my husbands grandfather. We will be able to go home to visit again. I haven't been home in over two years. We will have fall again my favorite season, and winter with snow. I won't have to deal with twelve months of sun. Me and the sun do not get along well together.
