Me and my DH spent the past year homeless, now we are struggling to make ends meet. We went to California on bikes with only our dog, a tent, 2 backpacks, and a duffel bag. We ate only because the homeless we met made sure we were fed. We made money by standing on the side of the road with our dog and a sign that read "Homeless and hungry, please help, God bless." It was hard, but a learning experience of a life time. It amazed me how selfish and cold hearted people really are.
Thankfully now we are living with my mother who is loving and gracious enough to give us a home in her humble housing projects. Luckily we still have this old computer that is also our TV and radio that my mother has had forever.lol. We have a roof over our head and a bed, and at least 2 square meals a day thanks to he local church. We applied for food stamps, and I get free college courtesy of my war vet father that I have not seen since I was 5. I don't apply for the gov. grants that so many people need and/ or abuse, but I am a fighter, and guess what?
I am thankfull for what I do have now!!!
Living homeless on the road has taught me just how much the little things count, and life is even harder when you have absolutely nothing. I gave my dog to someone very special we had met on the road, and she is much happier now. I am doing everything I can to give my baby a good life, and my whole family is helping now. I am happy, and I am moving on in this hard harsh world.
