I'm thankful for not having boobs thrown in my face all the time by offensive and indecent breastfeeding mothers like the ones below:

Wait...Well, this is a bad example. Let's try again.

Hmm...Just a minute. I'm sure I can find better ones than these...

Eh, still not offensive enough. I'll check one more time.

That is better. LOOK AT THAT! I see about a half inch of boob. DISGUSTING.

UGH. Look at that indecency! She must be from some third world country to be exposed like that!

Now that's just...There are no words to descripe how inappropriate that is. Something needs to be done!

But why stop at breasfeeding women? There are boobs everywhere. Beware! If you thought the above photos were offensive, you WILL DEFINITELY be offended by the photos below.

Not this one, though. This one was in plain view on news stands and in mail boxes in 19 countries world wide!

Not this one, either. This one actually won an award!

Oh, and I guess this one is fine too. Everyone knows you can't sell jeans without someone being topless.

Or beer, for that matter.

Or sunglasses.

Or movie tickets.

Or CDs...

You know what? Maybe I'm crazy, but I think that someone mixed up some photos here. The first batch are offensive, but the second batch are just fine and dandy???

LOL Madismom could be talking about me.  I often sit in a comfy rocking chair in the cry room of our church, which is glass and a few feet from a restroom, and nurse my son without a cover.  I show little to no breast (certainly much less than some of the women walking around with low cut tops and push up bras) and am quite respectful of others.  I feel that the baby has every right to have a meal or a snack in a place that is comfortable for both of us without having to fiddle or fuss with hot covers or smelly restrooms.

Any woman who is ashamed of breasts (or seeing them) is ashamed of herself and her body. Any woman who think breastfeeding in church is wrong, their view of God and God's image is distorted.

We were not given breasts for purely sexual purposes. They were intended for breastfeeding. I was looking at a diagram of a mother's breast (with breastfeeding information on it) and the definition of nipple is this:

1. a protuberance of the mamma or breast where, in the female, the milk ducts discharge; teat.
2. something resembling it, as the mouthpiece of a nursing bottle or pacifier.
3. a short piece of pipe with threads on each end, used for joining valves.

A nipple is there for feeding children! That is what God intended for them! I don't see anything in that definition related to the sexual pleasure or use.

I was going to comment on the "there was a bathroom 2 ft away" comment, but seriously, why even dignify such ignorance with a response.

I know a lot of mothers who are regular church goers and say that they have always felt comfortable feeding their babies in church and have seen many other woman do it comfortably, many times without most people even noticing.  Babies don't know it's  bad time, and they won't understand mommy suddenly refusing to feed them.

Are we forgotting, Mary Breastfed?

I have bf three babies, with the first I was a bit shy and wouldn't feed in public.  The second I would but only in parenting rooms etc but this time I have no worries about feeding my son where ever we are if he is hungry then he gets feed.

I have showed my DH this and he is proud of all mothers who bf there babies.  I think it is the most natural thing in the world to do, there is nothing wrong with it.  If you don't like it GET OVER IT.

I did not breastfeed but I still found this a bit humerous but almost more sad - I think it is DISGUSTING how people (especially MEN) think it is ok for boobs to be displayed everywhere and yet people get upset when they are used for what they should be used for. Does anyone get offended when they see an animal nursing THEIR young? Go ahead and go up to a deer or cat and cover them up the next time they are feeding their babies!! I believe if I would have had more support from my dh it would have been different for me - and I also believe he views my breasts as something sexual and that was a reason he was uncomfortable with me bf'ing. But that is another story, isn't it?

On another note - on the first page of comments someone posted that there was a mom who was bf'ing in the cry room at church uncovered and "the sad part is there was a bathroom two feet away." Personally I think when in public you should be more discreet - not because you are feeding your baby but because I am a modest person and think women should cover their breasts anyway. The sad part is that you thought she should use the bathroom to feed her baby!! Do YOU feed YOUR baby in the bathroom?

I breast fed all 3 if my children. Not one time did I feel uncomfortable doing so. I  used a shaw over my body as to not offend anyone...HOWEVER...this post is right, I can go anywhere in the course of 5 miles of my home and go to any public restaurant, store, or NEWSTAND and see young women with their breast on display. (Including my own friends and family members)...Yet, my breast are supposed to be offensive while they are fulfilling their purpose....I DON'T THINK SO !!!!!!

Madismom315 you know you just contradicted yourself by saying you support it but OHNOEZ! she was breastfeeding without covering herself up or hiding in the bathroom.

How about this, next time you are somewhere NO matter where and you are eating.....cover your whole head up so no one can see YOU eating.

Make sense?  No.  Well neither did your post.
