I have to ask. I have been trying for years now to help change the NJ foster system. So far no luck lol. I have contacted every offical there is with letters, e-mail,and phone calls. All agree the system is a hazard to children, yet no one thinks it can be fixed. So what do we do? Do we keep allowing it to harm kids? I am just at a loss as to what to do next. I wrote my book because I know if people REALLY saw what was going on the politicians would have to do something. I just can't seem to get my story out there. Any Suggestions? I could use them about now. Thanks mommyof8

Way to go! You should be proud of your hard work and efforts!
Maybe contact the local news media outlets, and try and get them to do a cover on you and your efforts?!
Thank you both of you. We just got asked to take back another little girl. We had her when she was little for three years fast forward 6 years she is now 11. Her case fell through the cracks and we are getting her back now. So for 9 years this kids life was at the mercy of the system and they dropped the ball. Someone has to do something. We have been able to save seven, but we can't save them alone. The system needs to change.
Any ideas how to contact the media? I thought about making a you tube video.
Ways to contact the media: Call or email your local news channels, write a letter to your local newspaper editor and email major network shows (Oprah, 20/20, Dateline, etc.).
One person can make a huge difference! Don't ever doubt your efforts. When you start to have doubts think of the 7 little blessings that the Lord put in your hands. Stay strong and keep fighting!
Many blessings,
~Tina
I don't think one person makes too much of a differen, there is strength in numbers, so gather your people.
Don't ever give up Sister!!! You should check out the book The Legacy Of Luna and one can make a difference by Julia Butterfly Hill. She is the woman that lived in a giant redwood for 2 years to save it from being clear-cut.
i only have one thing to so say and that is to keep at it some thing well happen you justhave to have fath in what ever you do and yes one person can make a difference it always starts with one frist
Sure one person can make a difference! You've made a difference majorly for the ones that you've adopted. I've made a difference for the 11 that I've adopted. I even fought a racist school district all the way to federal court and they settled at the last minute when they realized that we were winning. In turn the superintendent at the center of the problem is now gone and a new one starts in August. Keep fighting and don't give up!
If you touch only one persons life for the better--You've made a difference!!! You should definitely contact the media!!Fight the Good Fight!!

You better believe one person can make a difference! You've been doing your part and as long as you keep fighting, no one can say you have failed. You have only truely failed when you quit fighting.
And you are doing one of the things I was going to suggest, You've spread the word with this journal. The more people who hear about it, the more response and support you are going to get. Just make sure you keep getting the word out there. I am going to vote this popular to help you get the word out.
