There are several different energies, that although can be defined, have yet to be proven to be completely true, or completely false.
Since we are created not only of a physical body, but also an energy field around our body, we have a theory that some people may have the ability to see these energy fields by seeing them in different colors. (since wavelengths and frequencies are seen in our eyes as colors, these energy fields are little different, and theoretically, some may have the ability to see them, just like some, can't see colors at all, because they are color blind). Our minds may change frequencies, based on these moods emitting different colors. There is some technology that is able to take the biofeedback from a person and interpret it as a colorful aura, called aura cameras. Although, the study of Auras doesn't help define much religiously, it may help to prove that we have more than just a physical self.
There is also the possibility of using the human energy field or mind to directly manipulate the physical environment. A woman well known from the Soviet Union, Nina Kulagina, was well known for her ability to do so. http://www.psychic-experiences.com/videos-psychics-mediums/telekinesis-nina-kulagina.phpty.html Whether is was just a "magic trick" or real is still highly debated, however we can manipulate small objects, like a balloon, or scraps of paper, with the body's static electrical potential alone, especially under dry conditions. So we have to ask ourselves if it's possible to manipulate energy in that way, can we not manipulate it in a way like Nina? It could possibly, although it's not widely tested. There are experiments many can do in their own home, to see if they can manipulate objects with the mind, however they can only be viewed as subjective evidence. You need a controlled environment for any experiments done, to be taken seriously.
However, even though the forms you may see of telekinesis seem to be lacking, there is another discussion I want to touch up on, before moving past this subject. There is another form called chi or ki. It's the dealing of physical objects through a meditative state that was studied by Asian martial artists. There has been documented footage of this phenomenon, taken with a thermal imaging camera that seems to pick up waves of heat from the extending hands of he accomplished chi practitioners.
This could be relevant to religion in a number of ways. If further investigated, it could help find a plausible scientific reasoning for many of the stories in the bible, such as Moses parting the seas, and many of Jesus's miracles. Although again, this is only subjective evidence, regardless of how it's used, when put together with other evidence, we could use it to either help support that there is intelligence beyond the body of Christ and Moses that helped them create these miracles, or it could show that they were advanced in their understanding of their own energies, thus manipulating objects to appear as miracles.
There is also direct mind-to-mind communications to study further. We all use telepathy is some form. It's defining the results were the problems seem to lie. Telepathy can be related to a television or radio tower broadcasting information to your home. They send signals as electromagnetic waves in a variety of colors and sounds. Comparing the electromagnetic waves that accomplish this are no different from the ones around your body, they only vary by frequency and wavelength. So it is a very possible theory to consider. This theory could also be very relevant to religion. It could, in and of itself define some of the truths behind religion, if studied further.
Prayer is usually considered a session in which the subject's mind directly communicates with the mind of God or some other divine element (God's, Goddess's, etc). Oftentimes, people who pray say they don't believe in "psychic activity" though prayer clearly falls into this category of telepathy. It's finding the truth behind it that, again, varies. It could be telepathy that helps some connect with a spiritual force, greater than ours (ex. God), or it could be our own misconception of telepathy. Telepathy could be nothing more than self-delusions.
These things we find connecting with telepathy could also be no more than coincidence, or they could help define something called synchronicity, which is when you find strange and remarkable "coincidences" happening all around you all. An example would be similar to thinking of a friend you haven't talked to in years, and within minutes they call.
I do want to note, that most of what I'm writing about pertains to theories drawn, that if studied further, could help define or lead us to defining the true realities behind these energies and what extraordinary things they can do, and what they can not do.
