Such an exausting weekend. It was by no means long, nor did it feel long. Although when I look back it doesn't seem like there was a lot we did. Just things that needed to be done that felt wonderful to get them out of the way took a while to do.
Friday I had my Pampered Chef Party. A wonderful turn out. Eleven women besides myself and the consultant. Afterwards a couple of the girls stayed and we talked until midnight. DH didn't come home until 1am. Oh no he wasn't out and about, he was at one of the ladies houses that stayed late. He didn't want to leave her DH until he knew she was on the her way home.
Saturday we slept in. It felt oh so good to sleep in without the kids crawling in bed. Oh yes, the kids are away. They are in PA for two weeks visiting with MIL. They've been there for a week now. So only one week left before they come home.
Sleeping in we got a late start. We put down the carpet outside on the front porch and down the steps. Took a lot longer than I expected. We had to measure, cut it and then cut around the railing when we put it down. We took a load of bushes and limbs we had previously cut down to the dump. On the way back we stopped for more adhesive for the carpet. We had no idea it was going to use so much, the first bucket only covered the top of the porch. That stuff don't go far at all. Then I had to go back for another. Just the bottom of the last step and we didn't have enough to finish. Afterwards we sat outside with the neighbors and enjoyed the peace and quiet for a couple hours. We had a few drinks, ate some spiked fruit dip that I had from the party and some pudding shots. Around 7:30 DH and I retired inside for a movie together.
About 11pm when DH went to bed, I got ready for my CVS and Walgreen midnight trips. Yes I'm a couponer and an ecb fanatic. I go at midnight so I don't have to take the kids with me, I can concentrate more on the deals than the kids. Not to mention the midnight crew at CVS is much friendlier.
CVS was great as always. Walgreens on the other hand well, I had to e-mail customer service about the supervisor. She wouldn't let me use register rewards with items I had coupons for. I had more items than I did coupons so there was no reason for her not to. I got home around 2 am and sent the e-mail before heading to bed.
Sunday we slept in again. Not as late as Saturday but it was nice to hold each other. We did much more today. We dug up some rocks along side the house. DH mowed the lawn while I started on laundry. I cleaned up the outside of three seasons room, pulling weeds and swept off the back porch. We dug out nine bushes that were between the houses, separated and replanted them. Cleaned out the garage. Finished the laundry. Went through all the kids toys and pulled out the ones they no longer play with and rearranged their toy room and I cleaned their bedroom. I rearranged the hall closet and finished folding and put way the laundry.
For dinner, I cooked chicken on the grill that had been marinading all day. After putting it on the table one of the neighbors came over to give me her order from the party. When I went back into the kitchen the chicken was gone. I had to chase down the dog and yell at him. Our other neighbors were supposed to come over and have dinner with us. I had to go cancel since I didn't have anything else thawed out to prepare, good thing she had laid something out earlier. DH was hysterical, he thought it was funny watching me run around the house looking for the dog. Ok ok, it was funny, even the neighbors were laughing, they knew what had happened before I got to their house. They had been outside doing yard work as well so they saw me.
I got a call early in the afternoon from Walgreens. Unfortunately the e-mail was forwarded to the wrong Walgreens, but the nice gentleman confirmed for me that the supervisor at the other store was totally in the wrong. He told me to come to his store and I wouldn't get any kind of hassles over using coupons and register rewards. Thankfully, I don't do Walgreens to much. I prefer CVS it's less of a hassle and they have a clean cut policy. Whereas Walgreens, when I asked for a copy of their coupon and register reward policy he said he didn't think there was one. But if there is he will be sure that I get a copy of it.
So that was my long exausting weekend. Wow, it's amazing the things you can get done when you don't have one hundred interruptions. I must admit, I miss them so much. It's so quiet at night, some times I'm completely lost. Most of the week I found it hard to get motivated in the morning without having them here needing breakfast or something. We haven't heard from them at all this weekend. Both DH and I have tried getting ahold of someone but all we got was call back later. I know they had a big party at the park yesterday. But that was yesterday. Why isn't anyone answering today? I miss them.
