I get a lot of crap for not giving Ivy junk food. Most of the comments are like It's not gonna kill her. She's gonna have it later anyway. If you don't give it to her now, she'll go nuts for it later. Or something equally as stupid and wrong. I went to my grandma's for a while & she pulled out the ice cream cones. It was all natural strawberry ice cream. Unfortunately, Ivy learned what ice cream looks like from her books. Which brings me to another point, anyone else pissed that like all the ABC books use icecream for I??? Arrrg. But anyway. I took the spoon she was using to eat her banana cause I thought she was done with it for my icecream. She watched in what kinda looked like confusion. I gave her a bite. It lasted less than a second. She made a mad face, spit it out, and said NO ICECREAM! BANANA FOR IVY! I held back my laugh and said That's fine. Bananas are good for you. And she went back to her banana. I'm pretty happy about it =)

LOL that's too funny!  I try to limit the sweets for my kid too.  But my son has a major sweet tooth when it comes to cake and ice cream!  He loves banans too though...so I might have to do my own little experiment. LOL

That's FUNNY!

My son is particularly fond of ice cream.  When I do buy him, I try to stick to soy.
