Kate's Krazziness

The Moon's the North Wind's Cookie by Vachel Lindsay
The Moon's the North Wind's cookie.
He bites it, day by day,
Until there's but a rim of scraps
That crumble all away.

The South Wind is a baker.
He kneads clouds in his den,
And bakes a crisp new moon that . . . greedy
North . . . Wind . . . eats . . . again!

Vachel Lindsay was my uncle. He married my grandmother's older sister. I remember it from my first grade reading book.

This was a song sung by Burl Ives in the 1950's.
